Today, I practiced the whole part of playing "Fly Me to the Moon". I think it is getting better and now the arrangement is having more variation. Next, I should practice as a group in school but also practice this again before the assessment.

I played the chords with syncopation for the third part of the song after intro, melody. I think it is getting better and more fluent although I would still need more practice. Next, I should try combine all the intro, holding of chords, syncopating then back to holding the chords

In this video, I practices especially in the syncopation part to improve and make it fluent. I tried to find which notes to press keeping in mind what Mr Herry said, left is the 1 and 5th note of the chord and the right the others. I think I still need more practice so next I should practice the same thing to improve on it.

This video is when I played like what Mr Herry give feedback to me. The first part, I played the melody then the chords like I practiced before. Then I use syncopation and last back to holding chords. I think I must improve and practice more in the syncopation part as I am not used to playing that and made some mistakes here.

I practiced my jazz group performance "Fly Me to the Moon" for already more than 2 months already now. I think it is getting more fluent and good with the pedal. Next, I should keep practicing and be ready for our group performance assessment anytime.

This video, I tried the same thing as before which is playing the usual play for the first part of the song before the repeat and then another after the repeat. I think I should change from one chord progression to the other, being flexible to suit the melody. Next, I should try using pedal since I dont have the string effect in piano, using pedal should help me give the effect.

In this video, I tried to hear the difference when I play the chord in different chord progression. For the first time before the repeat sign, I tried playing with the same progression as before then the second time in a different one. I have not yet decided on whether which one was better so next time I should try this again.

In this video, I practiced and tried in a faster tempo. I think this sounds more fluent but I should try the D-G-Bb chord next time and hear the difference. Next, I should keep the tempo but try and hear for sound quality.

Today I practiced for my jazz performance. I hold the chords since I will be playing as strings holding the chords of each bar. I think I would need to practice more and should change when I hold the Gm chord into D-G-Bb instead of G-Bb-D. Next, I should keep practicing this with that way.

Music Theory Class
Today, we were given a sheet to note down the scores of term 3. i think my scores were alright. But for term 4, I have to improve on the reflection on my blog especially the video upload. Then the first group "Summer Time" rehearse for their jazz performance. I think they were quite good. Next group was "I Got Rhythm". I think they were okay but need more practice. For my group, we need to improve on the ending. Next, I should remember about the video for the blog and keep practicing my part for the jazz performance. Also, our group had scheduled to practice together other than in the sessions we had together with Mr. Harry.

Music Theory Class
Today, we were told about our agenda for today which was redo the group singing, submit hardcopy of the final jingle and practice for our group jazz performance. We did our singing assessment first with other groups going first. My group did not redo our singing assessment. Next, we submit our hardcopy of the jingle, I submitted mines. Then, we filled in a booklet of our reflection of our final jingle. I think my singing group was already good with the division of voices and the jingle is okay although the word 'Preschool' in my title "Jingle Preschool" is handwritten instead of printed. Next, I should be ready with our jazz performance.
Practical Class
Today, my group practiced in the piano room. I think our group was better now especially in the piano parts. Cooperation is also improved. Next I should keep practicing my part especially when I play the part where there is syncopation.

Today, as soon as we went in to the class, we were shown videos of our jazz performance rehearsal last time. I think from the videos although our arrangement may not be best of the groups. I think we did improvement in cooperation. Then we were shown some videos from the previous grade 10 including the ceremony of journey to DP of the previous' year and then watch our singing assessment of jazz song last term. Then we hear each of our jingle again together so Mr Herry can give us feedback. Mr Herry said that my jingle is already good and suits my advertisement for preschool. Next, I should prepare my hardcopy and softcopy of my jingle.

Music Theory Class
Today we were told that about the importance of submitting our jingle draft. Then we were told things about music as inspiration. We were also shown videos of people's performance of different stage performance attitude and actions in order to attract their audience. It includes performance from Guilian, a thirteen year old playing Concerto 1, a sever year old playing flue and music videos of Michale Buble "Everything" and "Haven't Met You Yet". Then we hear one of our classmates jingle draft and give feedback for her. I think it was good and since she is adverising about preschool, I think it suits the advertisement with major sound heard. After lunch, we rehearse with our group for our jazz performance. Next, we rehearse the whole performance. The first group was "I Got Rhythm" group. Mr Herry give feedback for them to make the intro played together, make it faster and collaborate with the vocal. I think they need more practice especially making it sound together. Music Theory Class
Today, we checked first on who had submitted for our hardcopy and softcopy of our jingle. I have submitted both hardcopy and softcopy. Then, we gave feedback for one of our classmates' work since we haven't commented on his' earlier. We discussed on the impact of major and minor scales towards the emotion created according to our scenario of advertisement. Overall, we were given feedback from Mr. Herry to make our jingle with simple melody but an appropriate one and with instruments that we are familiar with rather than making a complicated one but does not sound good. We were then asked when our final jingle will be submitted. which was written to be 2nd week of May. We were told to submit our jingle next week Tuesday, rehearse our jazz performance next Tuesday and the redo of singing assessment next Thursday. Then, we watched two of our classmates do their first singing assessment. I think they were good but they have to improve on being louder. Next, I should prepare for the final 16 bar jingle and jazz performance.

Music Theory Class
Today, we had our singing assessment. We warm up together first as a whole class. Then, my group was assessed first. I think the pitch was good although we have to memorize the lyrics to improve our performance. Our group was given feedback from random classmates chosen. When others perform, we were chosen randomly to give our feedback to them. I think they were all good in their singing assessment but we were given a second chance to redo our singing assessment to improve it two week after. Next, I should keep practicing for the jazz performance and the singing assessment memorizing the lyrics.

Music Theory Class
Today, my class came late after our PE session, doing gokart. As soon as we came, we noe the song and group for our singing assessment. My group has four members singing "Nothing At All". We were asked to do our rehearsal however the groups had not practiced yet. So, we listened to our classmate's work on their jingle and wrote our feedback to them in a booklet given to us. I think the jingle my classmates made was overall very good and entertaining. Then we practiced for our jazz performance. Next, I should prepare for my singing assessment for next class but before dismissing, we changed our song from "Nothing At All' into "Let It Be" by the Beatles.

Today, we were given back our essay report to see our scores then give back to Mr. Herry for our portfolio. Then, we submit our finale draft. I submitted both my softcopy and hardcopy of my jingle. However, I think my jingle suits more to an ice cream advertisemnt rather than fast food. Then, we wer told that we will have a singing assessment next week. This assessment can be a duet or as a group. We then practised for our jazz group performance then rehearse. We got back feedback from our classmates after the rehearsal. Those feedback include improving on the intro, volume of instruments, beat and teamwork. I think my group still needs practise as a whole group. Then, we take turns giving feedback to other groups. I think they were overall good although some needs more teamwork in it. Next, I should be ready with the song for the duet or group singing.

Then, we were asked to practise as a group for our jazz performance. I think I would need to practise more especialy as a group. I wrote those down in a piece of paper based on what I see and hear in Mr. Harry's video that was taken before. Music Theory Class
Today, my class was dismissed late from the previous session so we all came late. Then, an example sheet was given out taken from the work of last year's music class. I think he created a great jingle music. This can help me in making my own and as an example for its structure in finale. Next, we discuss how it can connect to our business in business class. We were then asked to make the draft of the first four bars of our jingle before going to our lunch. I think that this task was rather difficult especially that I never made a song for different instruments playing together. Next, I should try put this bars in finale just to hear how it sounds.
Instrument Class
Today in instrument class, we had the first 10 minutes in the division based on our instrument class so I had my piano class. This is to show Mr. Herry what we had done so far and how we will play in our assessment. Viena and I played the chords that had been arranged. We were then given feedback to play the chords by Viena playing the beat and me holding each chords. Some of the chords had also been changed. I think this will sound better and is easier for me to play. Next, I should keep practising this.

Music Theory Class
Today my class came late because of our previous session. I was told to make background of the survey (objective), progress (tell what you do), facts (evidence of survey) and combine it into one - 5 paged essay of "Role of Music in the society", not forgetting about the conclusion from the given survey. Then, we were told about what jingle music is which is a short commercial music. Next, we were shown a sample video on this type of music. I think it is quite interesting how coca cola use this type of music in their advertisement. Our class was then shown on the previous class's work on jingle music. Our task this term will make a 16 bar jingle music. I think the last class' work is great and fits what they advertise. The due date for this task is on May. Next, I should prepare with my survey and essay.
Instrument Class
This instrument class, I tried playing the chords that I had practised and noted made from my term break taken from the recording of Mr. Harry play. I think it sounds better now even though I would need to change some bits. Next, I should ask Mr. Harry's comment on it and ask feedback to improve it since he is absent today.

Music Theory Class
Today, we were asked to fill in a form commenting on music theory class itself. Then, some of my classmates who had not done the practical assessment of performing own blues composition performed today. I think they were all great in playing the instruments. Next, we were asked to prepare to rehearse each group with their song after the lunch break. After lunch break, my group was first in rehearsing. I think this time I had a better picture of the chords and the song although we still need to improve in the togetherness and the sound quality. After that, the two other groups did their rehearsal. I think they were all good, one of the group's intro is also good. My group then came to a separate room to rehearse. At that time, I asked permission to record Mr Harry playing so that I can have something to refer to later at home if I cannot do it. Next, I should keep practising this.

Music Theory Class
This class we were seated in groups. My class was late since we were from our PE session having our session in the driving range. My group discussed about the chords that is used for our song. The guitars tried their part and then Mr. Herry suggested on what was needed for it to improve. After that each group came and tried to rehearse their song without having an intro, just the song itself. I think my group still needs improvement, especially me on the piano. Then we were divided into different classes with different supervisors to practise our song. My group's supervisor was Mr Harry. I asked Mr Harry about the chords and he wrote it down for me. I think I still need a lot of practise. Next, I should practise the chords that were given to me.

Music Theory Class
In this theory class, we were asked to fill a reflection booklet about composing our blues composition. Then, we were taught more about chords and what do the abbreviation of the chords mean. I wrote these down in my music book. I think these chords are rather confusing as I am not used to it. Then, after lunch we came back and sat in our groups. The melody and the chords for it is then given in the whiteboard and I copied it down. I think it would be easy for me to play just the melody however piano should play the accompaniment or the bass which I think would be difficult. Next, we should practise according to our instruments first so that we can ask our instrument teachers if we dont know how to play it.

At first we were given the opportunity to choose our own group but we chose to be chosen. At the end, my group had 8 members, 2 from each instrument. I think this task would be a challenge. My group will be playing I Got Rhythm Song. Next, I should learn more about the song and how to play it.

Music Theory Class
Today, we have our blues practical assessment. The piano group went first. I think my group was good but I did a bit mistake at the end because when copying my melody into the music book, I did it in a hurry so I cannot read my writing in the end. Then, the guitar group went next. I think they are all good although some need more practise. Next, the violin group did their assessment. I think they are all good too. The violin group played separately in each key. Some had different key for their song but all of them are great. The flute group came last. They did it one by one as they, too, used different keys but all was great. Next,we had our instrument class

In piano class, we were given inspiration from videos of jazz performers. I think they were all skilled and played great. I was inspired by a duet shown in the video when one plays and the other would play after she played, like someone having a conversation. Then, we were told about our next assignment which was having a group performance of jazz. We were asked whether we prefer to have the group divided as the same instruments or mixed instruments. Personally, I prefer having mixed instruments because we never did it this way and would be a chance for us to learn more. We were also given a sheet on one of the jazz song choices. Next, I should try playing what was in the sheet.

Personally, I prefer having mixed instruments because we never did it this way and would be a chance for us to learn more. We were also given a sheet on one of the jazz song choices. Next, I should try playing what was in the sheet.

Music Theory Class
Today, I submitted my new blues melody that I had done in finale with my friend's help since my finale had expired. Then, each instrument class go up front to rehearse their melody with the minus one chords for blues. I think my melody sounds wierd. I also still do not get the beat. So I decided to change the melody again since I had not tried how my melody sounds when composing it. The others, with their own instruments are mostly good. Next, we wil have our blues composition practical assessment so if I decide to change my melody I should do it as soon as possible.
Piano Class
In piano class, we did similar like we did in theory class except that we have to share one piano with two people. I think I still need improvement in both composing and playing blues. Next, I will try to make another melody which would hopefully sound better.

Music Theory Class
Today, the blues composition that was submitted last session was played by Mr Herry in the keyboard. Each of my classmate's melody was given a feedback. I think mines need lots of improvement as some does not fit to the chord and the melody sounds wierd. Next, I would correct the melody.

At first, I was given time to correct my melody so I made a new one. Then, all of us tried our compositions while Mr Herry played the chords. I think I still need more improvement although this one is better than the one before, fits in the chord. Next, I still want to redo the melody.

Music Theory Class
Today, we discussed about the 12 bar blues homework that was given. Then, our compositions were collected. I think I need to improve on my composition because Mr. Herry said that I already did a mistake on the first bar. Next, we continued our singing assessment that wasn't done the last session. I did mines, I think I need to improve on the projection of voice. Then, I continued filling in the paper with how i did my assessment and what to improve in. Next, I should continue practising what I had learn in practical class about blues and revise what was thought in theory class.

Music Theory Class
Today, we start with warm up exercises to sing before our singing assessment. This was after we all had our minus ones in the school computer or prepared for our singing assessment. Then, we started our singing assessments according to alphabetical order. I did not get any chance to go this time. But I have filled in a paper on the background of the song, why I chose the song and my preparation. I think the ones who did the assessments were great in doing theirs. Next, I should prepare my 12 bar blues composition and my singing assessment.

After playing the blues chords, I practise blues scales. This scale really helps in creating the right hand for the chords earlier. I think I played this scale well. Next, I should figure out melody for the blues chords for my composition based on my practise.

Today, I was given a sheet about "The Definition of Jazz". This paper was actually given when I was doing the ISA test. Then, we were taught about Blues scale to prepare for our next task which is a 12 bar blues composition. We wrote which chords to use in our music notebooks and its legends. Then, we were given examples of how to fill it in. I think this task is a challenge for me because I am not used to blues. Next, we should fill in our own melody.
Piano Class

Today, we did our solo singing assessment of "I Got Rhythm". This class all 10 Ds went to class late because the session before is PE and we went to drive golf. The first thing I did was fill in my reflection of the two essays I made. Then, I submit both reflection and the essay. Then, we preapre for our singing assessment by singing as the whold class. Before my turn, I filled in my preparation then when it is my turn, I sang "I Got Rhythm" then filled in how I did and what next. I think I need to improve on being louder. Next, I should make up my mind on what to sing for the free jazz song assessment.

This is my second practise of the chord progression. I think I did quite well for the first 3 chords but need practise for the rest. Next, I should practise moving from one chord to the other since it is still a problem for me in moving fluently.

Music Class
Today, I did not attend music class because I had to do ISA so I was excused from this class together with some of my friends. Because of this, I had to ask what tasks they did in class and what tasks are there for me to do. I was told that my classmates sang "I Got Rhythm" two by two in class and that I should make an essay about "Jazz and its role in society" for the 8th of February. This essay is 1000 words long, 12 comic sans font and with 1 or 2 line spacing. I think the activity my friends did was useful to prepare for the singing assessment. Next, I should be ready with my essay.

Music Theory Class
This class, we were given a sheet about music history including migration to read and discuss together. Then, after the discussion, we were given "I Got Rhythm" sheet for the singing assessment. I think this song's rhythm is difficult to sing. This may be because I am not yet familiar with this song. Next, I should read the sheet with the history content for more knowledge about our topoic. I should also be more familiar with "I Got Rhythm". I had submitted my essay homework today.

Music Theory Class
Today, we werer told about our singing assessment which is to sing a jazz song. Then we were given a task due next week which is a 200-400 words essay. My topic was "What are the most common differences between a jazz musician and classical musician". THe ones who have the same topic with me discuss together some differences and then we presentate what we have discussed. i think the task can be finished for next session which is 2 days after today. Then, we revise the jazz modes and the names. Some of the people who haven't played the jazz modes from flute, guitar and violin group played after that. I think that most are good although some needs more practise. Next, I should be ready for the essay.
Piano Class
Today, I wrote down the chords that we play last session because I don't know how to play it when I try it at home. So, I wrote these down first: 1. dm7-G7-C, 2. Cm7-F7-Bb, 3. Bbm7-Eb7-Ab, 4. Abm7-Db7-Gb, 5. F#m7-B7-E, 6. #m7-A7-D. I think I need more practise. Next, I should upload this in my blog and try what I've wrote at home.

In this video, I played jazz modes with right hand playing the chords. I think the technique of playing is same with playing the chords with the left so it was quite good. Next, I should keep practising these two ways of playing the modes. I should also check the video that Mr. Herry will upload for the next task. This task was already discussed in class but I still do not know how to play it really well.

In this video, I played the jazz modes with left hand playing the chords. I played from one direction then back again. I think I played this quite fluently and was better at this video rather than in class. Next, I should try doing the opposite thing which was playing the chords in the right hand.

Music Theory Class
Today, we were first given a worksheet to read about jazz music. Then, we discuss on the sheet about syncopation, improvisation, types of jazz music, etc. We discussed for a long time and then we have split session. After lunch, we came back to hear some of the guitar group, violin group and piano group playing jazz modes. I think I get a lots of new knowledge from the sheet that was given. I also get to hear jazz modes in other insturments. I think they are all good although the violin group should improve on the pitch. Next, I should keep finding out more about jazz to prepare on my essay.
Piano Class
Today, we were told that we should upload video in our music blog starting this week. Then, wel earned a new thing which is simple chord progression. I think this is difficult to play, especially the right hand and the movement from one chord to another. Next, I should practise this at home and upload the video.

Today I was released late from the session before so my class came late. I was given a paper to read about jazz music then we did a quiz about the paper given. In that worksheet, there are many questions but we were only asked to do the first 16 questions. Our papers are then collected before the answers were discussed. Then, we were given the assessment schedules for the term. After discussing the schedule, we copied Jazz Modes to our music book. Since I haven't bought a new book for this term, I asked for a piece of paper from my friend. I was asked to play what I learned last week in my first piano practical session. Then, another of my friend showed the same thing, also in the other way from Locrian to Ionian. Mr. Herry showed us those modes played in violin and guitar. I think this is quite easy to play in piano. Next, I should practise this modes.

Today, we had a bit problem with the arrangement in schedules. Grade 3 was waiting outside the room while we were inside. It was solved when Mr. Herry said that it was our time. So, we started our first music session of Semester 2. The first thing that we did was looking at our scores of Semester 1 for each criteria. I think I must improve on the last two criteria in which one of them was my personal engagement. After our lunch break, we continued with the class since it was split session. This session, we were told a bit on the history of jazz music. We were also told about our assignment which is a 200 word essay about jazz music. An example of a topic for the essay is 'Music is a universal language'. But before making this essay, we should read more about music like the history of jazz music, types of jazz, etc that will help in making the essay. I think this task will be useful in increasing my knowledge of music.

This practical class, we played dominant 7th chord in left hand and scale in our right. I think I did this quiet well and is already fluent in playing it.
